Betsy Alles

Betsy Alles, executive director, was appointed in early 2010 and previously led the Chamber of Manitowoc County as its executive director. A graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in journalism, Alles spent about half of her career in executive leadership positions in the insurance industry, the non-profit sector and as owner of a Michigan marketing agency.  She has earned numerous industry accolades in public relations and advertising and was a long-standing adjunct instructor in the Michigan State University School of Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Management. Alles is married to Eric Pekrul, an engineer, and has two grown children – daughter Alli Gerkman in Denver, CO and son Chris Gerkman in Lansing, MI. She is also a proud grandma to Jaynee Gerkman. Alles and her husband enjoy biking, flying, walking and as much travel as possible. Alles also serves on the board of directors of the Sheboygan-Plymouth Area United Way and the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation.
