Mission
The Mission of the Sheboygan County Leadership Institute is to seek out and bring together emerging and potential leaders from various segments of the community for a continuing educational program. The program is designed to encourage, motivate and prepare participants to assume and continue leadership roles in both their place of employment and in the Sheboygan County community.Objective
The Sheboygan County Leadership Institute will:
• Prepare potential and current leaders for lead roles in Sheboygan County.
• Identify and explore pivotal community issues.
• Expose participants to current problems and challenge them to test alternative solutions.
• Provide opportunities to meet and discuss ideas with local leaders, and with each other.
• Promote an appreciation of the resources, institutions, cultural programs, and people of Sheboygan County.
• Facilitate a network of key individuals to volunteer time and talent to the community and community-based organizations.
Applicants
The knowledge and understanding gained from the Sheboygan County Leadership Institute will prepare individuals for leadership roles in both their own organizations and in the community.
The ten day-long sessions will explore significant challenges that face the community. While not designed to provide in-depth analysis of any one area, sessions will address a wide spectrum of issues.

• Community Service
The first session Simulated Society is held on a Monday in August. All other sessions will be held on Thursdays, September through May, unless otherwise noted. Each day’s activities, will begin at 7:30 am and conclude at 4:30 pm. Attendance is required. Continental breakfast and lunch are always included.
Program
Leadership Institute applicants should be:
• Individuals who want to commit both time and energy toward involvement in Sheboygan County.
• Individuals who are concerned with community issues.
• Individuals who have the desire for personal growth opportunities.
• Individuals who demonstrate concern for the future of Sheboygan.
Participants
The Sheboygan County Leadership Institute makes a conscious effort to select participants who represent a cross section of the community. The diversity of perspectives among participants generates meaningful personal interaction and growth in the leadership program. Final participant selection is made on the basis of the written application.
Investment
The fee for the Sheboygan County Leadership Institute covers all costs associated with the program. The current fee is listed on the application form.
