I doubt that any candidate will come to the mayoral role with such an effective skill set. Roberta has been a loyal supporter of Sheboygan, has community and public relations skills that far exceed what anyone else could bring to the table, and understands budgets particularly where taxpayers are concerned. However her greatest strength, and one that we need at this time, is her ability to see both sides, to see all sides, and come to a solution that satisfies most. She is win-win by nature.

When I saw her name as a candidate, I said to myself, "It's about time Roberta!"

Roberta would be my first choice for a new mayor. I was surprised and pleased that she is willing to take on this demanding job in the current economic climate. Good luck and you have my vote.

Mr. Heimermann's website states "He is a small business owner, serving as President & CEO of Sheboygan Communications, a diversified company dedicated to marketing, web design and interactive media. Asher has over four years of experience in marketing and developing websites. Some of his clients include Above & Beyond Children’s Museum, Milwaukee Public Television and Roy Pirrung."

I would like to know if he can show proof that the proper business license was applied for and received as well as a tax ID number. He should also have proof that the business taxes are paid and current. If he does not have the paperwork, then his ability to run a city of 50,000 and a budget of multi-million dollars is highly questionable.

Hi Randy,

What are your thoughts about developing a casino on South Pier? My concern is that this is a short term fix that benefits Blue Harbor more than it benefits our community as a whole. Gamblers tend to go to the casino and then leave. They don't gamble for a few hours and then go shopping before grabbing a bite to eat at a local diner. Often times gamblers bus in and bus out. Do we really want to make that the crown jewel of our city?

Do you think there are economic benefits for our community as a whole that would make that trade-off worth it? Will a significant percentage of those gambling dollars stay in Sheboygan? Or even Wisconsin?

Thank you for taking the time to review my question!

Can you better explain the term "self-sustaining economy",
when the City relies on State and Federal Aid? What do TIF's do to the General Revenues regarding "self-sustaining economy?

This was an excellent interactive session and Cathy approached every question with a keen sense of what's needed and an obvious awareness of the need to bring people together. Very enjoyable and informative.
