Someone from the Baby Boomer generation is retiring every 8 seconds. Will this exodus of workers impact your business? Can their skills be effectively used in local business operations? “How to Use the Retiring Workforce” was the primary topic of the Operations Managers Roundtable on Thursday, January 26 here at Sheboygan County Chamber. Fifteen area employers shared information and learned from each other. A few topics discussed included use of a ‘casual workforce’ from two Sheboygan County based manufacturers, developing a retiree resource pool, how federal government programs are limiting the employment of retired workers, and more. In addition, everyone gained valuable information about the Baby Boomers that reside and work in Sheboygan County and northeast Wisconsin from WI Department of Workforce Development representatives. The next Operations Managers Roundtable will be on Tuesday morning, February 28. To learn more, contact John Rogers rogers@sheboygan.org . Please find the complete Baby Boomer report here.
