There are many hazards that our employees are exposed to every day. Some are easily controlled and some are not. Electricity is one of those hazards that can be easily dealt with but only when employees are expert in its use and control.

• Do you know for sure if your mechanics and machine operators are properly trained to identify electrical hazards?
• Do they know what tasks they are allowed to do and which ones they are not?
• Are they truly "qualified" to do the work we ask of them?

To help answer those questions, a trainer from the Appleton, WI district OSHA office will enlighten you on what training and information is required to be known by these employees. Kelly Bubolz has been a Compliance Assistance Specialist with the Appleton office for 12 years and served as a Compliance Officer for another 10 years prior to that.

The Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual Golf Outing this year at Sheboygan Town & Country on Sept. 22.

Tee times begin at 7:30am and continue all day. There are some 18-hole times available prior to 9am or 9-hole times available after 1:30pm. Dinner and raffle/auction to follow beginning at 5:30.

Cost for the days events are:

Two full days of Civil War drama unfold in the largest Civil War encampment in Wisconsin. A full schedule of activities extends from 10 AM to 5 PM wiht two authentic battles re-enacted each day. Watch the spectacle of hundreds of soldiers - cavalry, infantry an artiller - as tehy struggle across the field of conflict. Experience the 1860's clash of arms between North and South as Union and Confederate troops set up camp, conduct drills and offer a variety of demonstrations. Civilian and women's issues, a medical field hospital and music of the Civil War era are presented interactively each day, and special hands-on experiences abound.
